Motions 6.1 and 6.2, referring to relegation from and promotion to Division 7, were not passed.

Presentation Dinner – Final Call

The Presentation Dinner will be held on November 9 (7pm for 7:30pm) at Cheltenham Civil Service CC.  Emily and Dan Midwinter are organising the event.

The arrangements will be similar to the past two years.  The menu is Braised Lamb Shank served with potatoes and seasonal vegetables, followed by Chocolate Fudge Cake served with Double Cream.  The vegetarian option will be Goats Cheese & Red Onion Tartlet.   The price will be £16.25.  It is hoped that, once again, a Gloucestershire CCC player will be able to attend to take part in a short Q and A and to present the trophies.

Bookings to Dan Midwinter (, indicating whether the vegetarian option is required, by Saturday October 27 please.

As in previous years, all teams will be invoiced for two tickets.

GCCL T20 Blast

There are now 27 clubs expressing an interest in this competition.  Ian Robson will be emailing these clubs in the next few days asking for a firm commitment to enter.  Other clubs (10 have not yet indicated their intentions) are also welcome to enter.

Confirmed entries should be emailed to by Friday 9 November.

Support from Greene King

The League sponsor, Greene King, as well as beer supplies, is able to support clubs in a number of ways.  Clubs interested in taking advantage of this should contact Nick Holland (

Nick is working as a consultant to Greene King within cricket clubs in the UK .Greene King have made a heavy investment sponsoring cricket in England and as a result have a lot to offer grass roots cricket clubs.  Nick personally has been heavily involved in cricket clubs all his life and so understands the challenges that clubs have maximising income from their bar.

2019 Fixtures – Ground Availability

Clubs are requested to let Fixture Secretary Eddie Baker know as soon as possible those dates when they are unable to host a home fixture.

Eddie adds it is not a straightforward process changing the fixture matrices.  It would help with 2020 fixtures if clubs could be proactive and try to identify dates of ground closure for fetes, etc. rather than waiting until a few months before the season.

Club Contacts

Clubs were reminded to keep their officer, captain, etc. contact data up to date because this is the information that the League uses to communicate.  The instructions are at

The next newsletter will be published following the League Committee meeting on November 19.
